Why should I choose Earth Yoga with Inner Peace?
I’ve practiced yoga for several years but over the last couple of years found the huge benefits of daily practice when suffering with the stress of life! I know how even a bit of yoga and inner exploration and stillness can provide a valuable time to switch off, find rest, restore energy levels and find some sanctuary from the issues we all experience in life. This has inspired me to teach others and share my findings, in the hope I can empower others to find their inner peace.
Yoga is an ancient practice that dates back over 5000 years. Studies show that regular practice can improve strength and muscle tone, fitness, respiration, energy and vitality, cardio and circulatory health and flexibility.
Although frequently in the Western world yoga is enjoyed for physical well being there is a wealth of research that indicates the benefits of yoga for relieving stress, anxiety and depression, sharpening concentration and assisting with sleep disorders.
Yoga promotes the relaxation response and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is essentially the opposite of the fight or flight response. Reducing activity in the sympathetic nervous system and in turn reducing cortisone and stress levels in the body.
Earth Yoga is a Hatha inspired practice with specific focus on grounding and earthing postures, honouring the elements and simplicity of nature. The yoga classes are suitable for all abilities, from complete beginner through to advanced yogis. My aim is to encourage all students to work at their own level. By using breathing practices (pranayama), postures (asanas) and meditation (dhyana) students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and develop their practice accordingly.
